Dear clients,

The redenomination of the Venezuelan Bolívar (ISO 4217 symbol: "VEF") to the Venezuelan Bolívar Soberano (ISO 4217 symbol: "VES") is scheduled to go into effect on 20th August, 2018. The conversion rate is 100,000 (old) Bolívar to 1 (new) Bolívar Soberano (100,000:1).

We will begin providing rate updates for the new Bolívar from this date, both in our Latest and Historical API endpoints, under the ISO 4217 symbol "VES".

There will not be any API downtime or maintenance period associated with this change.

We will continue to provide rates for the old Bolivar (VEF), according to the official exchange rate between the two, until further notice. This is intended to prevent disruption to clients that rely on the VEF value being available, however we advise affected clients to update their systems to the new rate as soon as possible.
