Dear clients,

On 1st January 2018, we will add two new currency rates to our API endpoints, in accordance with currency re-denominations taking place in Mauritania and São Tomé and Príncipe. This change will not involve any API downtime or scheduled maintenance period.

1) The São Tomé and Príncipe Dobra (ISO 4217 symbol: “STD”) is being replaced by the new Dobra (ISO 4217 symbol: “STN”), at a conversion rate of 1000:1 (i.e. 1000 old Dobras to 1 new Dobra).

2) The Mauritanian Ouguiya (ISO 4217 symbol: “MRO”) is being replaced by the new Ouguiya (ISO 4217 symbol: “MRU”), at a conversion rate of 10:1 (i.e. 10 old Ouguiya
to 1 new Ouguiya).

In each case, the old and new currency denominations will run concurrently from 1 January 2018 to 30 June 2018. Open Exchange Rates will therefore provide both the new and old symbols side-by-side during this period.
